Password Security
In this lesson, an engineering firm who made a very specialized wind turbine system for energy production had their intellectual property stolen by a foreign country who then made the wind turbines for their own use. The hack occurred when the CSO of the company hurriedly put in his work username and password to set up his daughter's electronic toy. The hackers compromised the toy's password and used the credentials to break into the CSO's work network, and steal their intellectual property. This story was inspired by the American Superconductor breach that was documented by 60 minutes on CBS in January 2016.
